Preplanning

Recording Your Choices & Personal Details

More people are choosing to record their final wishes ahead of time – a gentle and thoughtful way to ensure their personal values and choices are respected.

Having your wishes written down gives loved ones clear direction when the time comes, easing the weight of decision-making during a difficult time. It can also help reduce stress around arrangements and costs, bringing peace of mind to everyone involved.

Registering a death in New Zealand requires important personal details, such as your parents’ names at birth and occupations, as well as your legal relationship history (including your age when the relationship began, where it took place, and with whom). We often meet families who are unsure about these specifics when the time comes. Pre-recording this information can help ease the process for your loved ones, allowing them to stay focused on the loss they are experiencing.

Planning Ahead

We’d love to sit down with you to talk through your ideas, thoughts, and plans – to listen, answer your questions, and record any important details. Our goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing you and your family are in safe, caring hands.

We will then keep your details safely on file for when they’re needed. All you need to do is make sure your family and close friends know about it. We can also provide you with a copy to keep alongside your will or other important documents.

‘Now For Them’ – Prepayment

Many people choose to not only preplan their funeral but also set aside funds to cover the costs. This practical step can make things easier for your family, reducing financial pressure and uncertainty when the time comes.
It is a simple way to ensure your wishes are known, respected, and paid for. This can provide much needed peace of mind, for both you and your family.

As proud associates of FDANZ,  Now For Them is the funeral prepayment plan we offer. It is a secure and practical way to set money aside for your final farewell.

When you join Now For Them, an account in the plan is set up in your name, and you contribute money towards your funeral costs.
This can be helpful in reducing financial stress for your family and avoids the need to access funds from an estate to pay for your farewell.

As a recognised funeral plan, contributions of up to $10,000 are currently exempt from asset testing when assessing eligibility for a subsidy for long-term residential care.
